Helping Your Child Study Better

If you have a child that is still living at home while pursuing their online degree you may want to make yourself aware of a few tips that will help study time be more streamline, less frustrating, and most beneficial for everyone.

  • Make it a house rule that during study time the television will be turned off. As far as the radio, observe how your child functions with the radio on some will be affected by it as a distraction while studies show that some students actually perform better with music. Each student is different, so it’s up to you (and them) to make the judgement call.
  • Speaking of house rules, there should be common agreement about phone calls and texting, as well. And this holds true for not only the student who is studying, but for other family members whose activities on their own phones may create a distraction for the one doing the studying.
